STILT® Summit
Introducing the STILT® Summit
The STILT® Summit presents a fine binding as a single composition from the back board, across the spine of the book to the front board. This is the one occasion on which a book is meant to be judged by its cover.
The text block rests gently on our Museum Surface and is held by our magnetically-attached STILT Ledges. The Summit supports your book as gently as would your own hands.
What you need to know
-
The Ledge supports hold by magnet for ease of adjustment. They attach firmly and lift away when you are ready to fold up your Summit. There is nothing to tighten and nothing to thread and they slide up and down to meet the height of your book.
-
Like all STILT products, the Summit folds flat when it is not in use. Store it between exhibition rotations, carry it to and from exhibitions, book fairs and photo shoots or simply move it from room to room.
-
The size names describe the volume the Summit is designed to carry, rather than the dimensions of its own contact surface which is deliberately smaller. A bound book is a structure in its own right, its boards and spine forming a case that carries itself. The work of the Summit is to hold that structure open at a viewing angle and to spread that hold gently across the surface beneath.
-
All of our exhibition mounts are made of conservation-grade core framing material, compliant with EN ISO 9706.
-
The Summit comes with our Museum Surface as standard, a closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene foam that is smooth, low friction, chemically inert, non-abrasive and non-absorbent.
The base comes standard with our Field Surface to keep the mount from slipping during open air exhibitions. Do ask if you would prefer our Museum Surface on the base as well.
