Surface Materials

A choice of surface materials.

Slip-resistant Field Surface

High-friction, durable contact surface for open-air applications

Our slip-resistant field surface is designed for frequent use in pop-up displays and open spaces. Its strong grip helps protect books from mechanical damage caused by falls, knocks, or bumps.

This material offers excellent long-term physical and chemical durability. It is not recommended for use with friable binding materials, silks, embroidered bindings, books with dust jackets, or bindings with metal detailing. For longer term display or use in exhibition cases with limited ventilation, we recommend our Museum Surface.

Slip-resistant Museum Surface

High-compliance, medium-friction contact surface for exhibitions behind glass.

Our slip-resistant museum surface offers the best of both worlds — excellent anti-slip performance in a material widely used and trusted across the museum sector. We recommend this surface for longer term display and rotating exhibitions and for use in exhibition cases with limited ventilation.

Due to its more delicate composition, this surface may require occasional replacement to maintain its optimal appearance.

Our STILT Dag models are supplied with this surface as standard.

Smooth Museum Surface

High-compliance, low-friction contact surface for reposition-able object support.

This smooth surface is ideal for supporting delicate materials such as friable bindings, silks, embroidered covers, books with dust jackets, and bindings with metal detailing. It can be applied directly to your products upon request or used modularly in conjunction with our Hammock accessory.

Due to its more delicate composition, this surface may require occasional replacement to maintain its optimal appearance.

Our STILT Omnibus and Absolute models are supplied with this surface as standard.

Please request your preferred surface when ordering your STILT products.
